RYP - Rodborough Youth Project

Rodborough Youth Project (RYP) started in 2005 when a group of young people wanted a place to meet their friends. The club was set-up by them with parents and volunteers helping out. We now have 3 part-time youth workers to lead sessions, but still rely on parents and volunteer support.

The club welcomes young people over 11 years old who live in Rodborough, or attended Rodborough or Gastrells Primary School. Members are welcome to bring guests too.

We meet every Friday evening in term-time from 7pm – 9pm at Rodborough Community Hall, Butterrow West.

We provide a wide range of activities and trips for young people. This year we have been tubing at Gloucester ski slope, had a fantastic sports coach in to run cricket and football sessions, walked to the ice cream factory and held cookery, craft, make-up and games sessions in the hall.

Entrance costs £2.50 per week and we have a well-stocked tuck shop with sweets and drinks to offer the young people a Friday evening treat.

The club is mostly self-funded from the entry subs and tuck shop profits. We occasionally receive grants from local funds. We believe the club offers good value for money and we subsidise activities and trips whenever we can.
